Handover of command in Afghanistan

On 15th May BrigGen. Jerzy Biziewski handed command over Polish Military Contingent to BrigGen Grzegorz Buszka, CinC of the 3rd rotation.
In the handover ceremony participated Polish Ambassador in Afghanistan Jacek Najder, dpty chief of Staff General VADM Tomasz Mathea and representatives of Coalition Forces.
BrigGen Biziewski pointed to the engagement and determination of soldiers of the 2nd deployment. "Every day, our soldiers were giving examples of strength and courage, fighting against terror arm in arm with troops of 82nd
and 101st Airborne Division and 1st and 2nd Afghani Brigades, in extremely difficult weather conditions and under permanent threat of the enemy fire", he said.
BrigGen Buszka assured that his troops will continue the task of their predecessors.
Personnel strength of the 3rd rotation has increased by 400 soldiers for up to 1600 pax. Poland will also deploy combat helicopters and more AMV personnel carriers "Rosomak" to PMC during the coming months.
