Died for a noble cause

21st June, Warsaw. It is with deep regret that the Ministry of National Defence confirms the death of 2ndLt Robert Marczewski from 6 Aiborne Assault Battalion in Gliwice killed in a roadside bomb attack in Afghanistan on 21st June 08.
Polish Armed Forces have lost a fine officer who laid his life in pursuit of the aim of a peaceful and stable Afghanistan. He has made the ultimate sacrifice. Minister of National Defence Bogdan Klich and chief of General Staff Gen. Franciszek Gągor offer sincere and deep condolences to his family and loved ones.
