Navy veterans meet in Gdynia

On 26th June Navy veterans defending Polish banner during WWII gathered in Gdynia to start 5th International Convention of Polish Marine.
Participants will take part in the holy mass held in Navy Church in Gdynia Oksywie and pay tribute to fallen marines. The program of the visit also includes a trip round Navy facilities, and meetings with Minister of National Defence and Navy CinC.
International Convention of Polish Marine takes place every few years, and is a sign of respect of contemporary seamen toward those who fought during WWII under Polish banner. 75 Polish veteran seamen inhabiting, among others, US and Canada are participating. This event integrates navy environment: marines of few generations and their families, and indicates continuity of history and traditions of Polish Navy forces
